Our all-new NHS Heroes Hub opens tomorrow from 4pm-8pm! Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity have been working with a fantastic local team of volunteers to organise this initiative, where all LTH staff with an ID badge can get access to their fair share of toiletries, fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen meals and much more.
The Hub, based at Oliver’s Place next to Home Bargains, is made up entirely of donations from local businesses, church groups and the local community, and will be manned by a number of generous volunteers.
There is a one-way system in place at the Hub to ensure the smooth flow of staff, and a limit of two standard carrier bags or one large shopper per person is in place to ensure fair access to products for everyone.
The Hub will eventually become the place where all donations are sent, so this is set to get even bigger and better in the near future!
Staff are asked to do the following to ensure we make the most out of this fantastic resource:
- Please ensure you are socially distancing (2 metres) wherever possible
- Staff may bring 2 carrier bags or 1 large shopper – the Hub does not provide bags
- Provide any feedback about the Hub to Lee.Hunt@lthtr.nhs.uk
